HIV/AIDS
- There are 40 million HIV positive in the world. More than 20 million have died to AIDS related causes.
- 4 million people become infected with HIV each year.
- HIV spreads especially among young people aged between 15 and 24.
- In Sub-Saharan Africa estimated 60-80 percent of HIV positive women have got the disease from their husbands.
- Around a quarter of the people living with HIV are under the age of 25.
- 10 percent of the world’s population live in Africa, as well as up to 63 percent of all HIV positive people.
