Libraries

There are two libraries in Väestöliitto. One is the Library of the Population Research Institute and the other is the Special Library for Medical Genetics.

The Library of the Population Research Institute functions primarily as the library for Väestöliitto’s staff. Also those outside Väestöliitto in need of information are helped as far as possible. The library has a large selection of Finnish and international literature and relevant statistics in the following fields:

• population
• fertility
• families
• family policy
• sexual and reproductive health

The Special Library for Medical Genetics focuses on rare genetic diseases. In addition to books and journals, diagnostics programmes of rare diseases as well as online connections to relevant databases are available.

The library is open to all in need of information. The books and journals are not lent but can be photocopied at cost price.
