Library of the Population Research Institute at Väestöliitto

Location of the library

The holdings of the library include literature and statistics both on Finland´s and the world´s population. The library’s collections on Finnish population statistics date back to 1865. There is information both on developed and developing countries. Central topics are population development, fertility, families, family policy, and sexual and reproductive health.

The books have been catalogued to Väestöliitto’s own POPULUS-reference database which can be browsed in the library. The loan period of books published by Väestöliitto is one month. The books by other publishers are lent upon consideration and the loan period is two weeks at the most. Statistics and journals are not lent; but they can be photocopied. There is a study desk for visitors at the library.

Open for customers outside Väestöliitto on weekdays 9.00-15.30 or by agreement
