Väestöliitto’s expertise in the family, population and sexual health fields is based on the services it provides and on research carried out at the Federation.

The Population Research Institute was founded in 1946. The Institute carries out population, family and sexological research. On the basis of this research, Väestöliitto is well informed about the hopes and attitudes of Finns toward forming families and towards various forms of support, for example.

The Infertility Clinics continuously carry out research relating to infertility and its treatment. This is one reason why Finland is currently considered one of the leading countries in the development of infertility treatments.
