Meeting Young People’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Needs in Nepal (2002-2010). The project aims to develop and create sexual health services for young people with a special focus in recognising and taking into consideration the needs of young girls and women, as well as in creating employment opportunities for women. The Family Planning Association (FPAN) of Nepal has trained young female and male volunteers to act as peer educators at youth centres.

In addition to counselling services, the young people organise various events such as street theatre, song contests and discussion groups. The themes include couple relationships, prevention of sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, family planning and safe abortion.

The project is being carried out in seven province areas in cooperation with FPAN and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The project is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
